In 2005, the ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium was established. DBS has grown from humble beginnings to become one of the region’s leading broadcasting industry events. Throughout the years ABU’s auspicious annual conference in Kuala Lumpur has drew over a thousand attendees.
The symposium’s goal is to arm broadcasters with the knowledge they need to make sound decisions in the rapidly changing digital age. A series of conferences, exhibitions, masterclasses, and workshops will follow. There were still many Asian broadcasters who hadn’t made the switch to digital when DBS launched in 2005. It seems that a sizable percentage of people have already made the switch, or are in the process of doing so. At the same time, more and more digital technologies are becoming accessible, providing exciting new opportunities while also posing difficult choices for broadcasters. DBS aims to keep the industry partners one step ahead of the curve.
