His career encompasses complex systems engineering, satellite network design, satellite broadband solutions, digital broadcast DTH and pay-TV operations, IPTV and OTT platforms, and—more recently—spectrum strategy and the development of 3GPP￾based telecom and Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) products and services. He has held senior positions in major international organizations such as Echostar, Nokia, Cap Gemini, Alcatel-Lucent, and DISH HD, and has served in advisory roles to leading TV networks and DTH operators across the Asia-Pacific region, contributing to their technology strategies, service evolution, and market development. Having lived and worked in Brunei, Indonesia, Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore, Wai Hoong brings extensive regional insight that blends technical, commercial, and regulatory perspectives across the satellite, broadcast, and telecom ecosystem. He holds a Master of Science in Technology Management and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from the National University of Singapore, as well as a Diploma in Business Administration from Henley (UK).
